Role of the Students's Council
Students’ Council with representatives of students belonging to various departments takes care of communicating common student issues to the Principal. It consists of President, Vice President, Department students’ association members, representatives of English literary club (Halcyon club) and Tamil Mandram. The council is also responsible for conducting social and cultural interactive events for the students.

JCE Alumni Association is envisioned and formed as a lifetime platform for the welfare of the JCE Community. This global platform will not only facilitate effective & faster communication among the alumni members but also provide an opportunity to better "Learn, Leap and Lead" throughout their life.
Besides a degree from JCE, it is our shared memories and stake in this place we call 'our alma mater'. "Giving back to your alma mater and other causes that benefit the JCE community is as important as anything else". Each and every member's active cooperation & support to the Alumni Association in any form will go a long way in making this Association an effective platform for interaction and also contribute towards the alma mater and the nation at large.
The alumni meet for the academic year 2008-2009, was held on Sunday, 31st August, 2008 at 11.00 AM at the college Auditorium. We also added that the working of the Alumni Association is a continuous affair; hence its members should work towards attaining a sustained growth. We concluded wishing at the alumnus a great success in their future endeavors.

Introduction
Jerusalem college of Engineering has developed a novel proctorial system. It is a proven and a successful system meant for personal counseling of the students. It is basically a system that takes care of the well-being of the student with respect to both academic and non-academic issues. This cell also emphasis on Faculty Development programmes relating to new Counseling practices and maintaining healthy student-teacher relationship.
Activities
In order to make the proctorial system more effective, Jerusalem College of Engineering signed an MOU with M/s Turning Point, a Counseling centre in the city on 01-09-2008. Under this agreement, experts from the centre visit the college periodically and organize training and development programs for the staff, students and their parents in matters relating to academics, and other professional issues.

An orientation program on “Proctorial System.
FOR THE YEAR Jun 2008 – Dec 2009
A Faculty Development Programme on “Proctorial System” was organized on Nov1st, 2008 to benefit the young teachers of the college. This programme aimed at grooming young faculty to guide their students in the right perspective. The expertise of the consultants of Turning Point Counseling Centre, Chennai was sought for this purpose. This one day programme was organized in two batches of staff participants consisting of 30 young teachers. Ms. Arundhati Swamy, a well known consultant of the above organization gave an interesting and interactive lecture on how proctorial system (also known as Mentoring System) should be practiced. The programme ended by redefining mentoring as a two way, mutually beneficial relationship that offers support, guidance, assistance and contributes to the development of capable individuals.In short,

N – Nurture growth and development
T – Trusting relationship
O – Offer guidance and support
R – Role model
The young faculty participants were immensely benefitted at the end of this programme.
COUNSELING SESSIONS FOR SECOND AND THIRD YEAR STUDENTS
It was held by Mr. Rajesh Menon, a Professional counselor of M/s. Turning Point Counseling Centre. The sessions were held on two days – 30-1-2009 and 18-2-2009. Each day, about 25 students were counseled and a total of 51 students were counseled on the two days. Students expressed satisfaction and felt motivated after the counseling session.
AN ORIENTATION PROGRAM ON “PROCTORIAL SYSTEM
An orientation program on “Proctorial System” for the newly recruited staff members was
organized during June/July 2009. The program was held department wise on separate days.
The Chief Proctor of the college addressed the salient points of the system and its functioning

Women cell
The Women Cell of Jerusalem College of Engineering was established in the year 2007. The Cell has been working for the improvement of the women faculty and girl students of our college. Apart from this they are involved in various social activities also. The Cell activities are formally inaugurated by eminent women personalities every year.

Anti-Ragging cell
It is proud to say that Jerusalem College of Engineering is absolutely a ragging free campus. However, as per Government order, we have formed an anti-ragging committee in the college to curb the menace of ragging. The Chairman of the committee is the Principal and the member-secretary is Mr.B.J.Balamurugan, Assistant Professor of the Mathematics Dept. The committee also comprises of the Jurisdictional Assistant Commissioner of Police, Revenue Official, representatives of the Faculty, parents, and students belonging to the first year and also seniors and representatives of the non-teaching staff.
