The business market is experiencing and encountering organizational transformations at all the times. This is creating challenges and opportunities for the organizations and management professionals. Therefore, today’s management professionals require an overall understanding of the challenging business environment of both internal and external. They will have to respond quickly and effectively when they face challenges in the business market. Department of Management Studies of Jerusalem College of Engineering understands this reality and provides an ideal platform for business graduates to enhance their knowledge, skills and competencies. It also inculcates and train students about the science of running a successful business enterprise. The department always takes students’ beyond the academics and provides hands-on experience right from the first semester. It also teaches the students on how to manage the businesses during its tricky situations. Students are being trained to have better human & survival skills and emotional balance to react to crises. These areas are specifically taken care by the department.
The department has set its own operational strategies to meet the standards of industries in the changing context. They are: identifying the actual requirements of the students and industrial sectors, using teaching and training methodologies, monitoring students’ performance with benchmark standards and placing them in business houses. The department is just started from the academic year 2009-2010 and created its own identity in very short span of time.

- Innovative business strategies required for the today’s business
- The emerging business context with new skills, actions, directions etc.
Campus Life
Apart from regular class hours, students are having special lectures by eminent management experts. The department arranges special lectures twice in a week. The students will have to make presentations in every week. The students are given case- booklets about successful and failure business houses. This is to understand how businesses are being managed during challenging, competitive business environment. This practice would help them to acquire knowledge about the importance of managerial decisions. The department also organizes seminars and workshops on important management topics. Students are encouraged to participate business competitions and paper presentations.
The Road Ahead
The department has plans to release management journal exclusively for publishing theoretical and empirical articles in the field of contemporary management. The department will also encourage the students to write articles on management topics. The department is planning to conduct both FDPs and MDPs for the communities of both teachers and business executives. It will also organize conferences on the subjects of HR convention and leading titles of management. Apart from these, the department will also organize Post-Budget Seminar once the budget announced. Business Experts will be invited to speak on Budget so that students will able to understand the realities of the economic development and overall business environment. The department has also applied to become member in AIMA, New Delhi. The membership will begin from April 2010.
Industry Institute Interaction
The department has its own cell called industry institute interaction cell (IIIC). The cell organizes seminars, workshops and special lectures. The department is having close contact with business leaders in managements areas such as HR, Marketing, Production and Operations, legal aspects etc, through IIIC. Students are given chance of interacting formally with management experts in various forums. IIIC has aims of providing an ideal platform for the students to have awareness and hands-on experience on specific areas of management. This would facilitate them to acquire and enhance their knowledge during their course of study. IIIC conducts special lectures twice in a week, seminars and workshops as and when needed, management events twice in a year etc.

Program Structure
Master of Business Administration (MBA) is a two-year full time program. The program is approved by AICTE, New Delhi and affiliated to ANNA UNIVERSITY, Chennai.
