Dr.S.Poornachandra completed his under-graduation in Electronics & Communication Engineering from National Institute of Engineering, Mysore University and post-graduation in Biomedical Engineering from Manipal Institute of Technology, Mangalore University. He obtained his doctorate in signal processing from Anna University.

He has more than 23 years of teaching and research experience in various leading institution in India such as NMAM institute of Technology, Mangalore University, SRM Engineering College, Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering, SSN College of Engineering, and RMK Group of Institutions.

He has guided more than 20 projects for UG and PG students. He has published more than 16 research papers in leading international and national journals and more than 18 research papers in leading international and national conferences. He won many best paper awards in international conferences organized by IEEE-EMBS, IISc etc. He is a member of peer review committee of IEEE Signal Processing Letter, IEEE Transaction on Signal Processing, Journal of WSEAS, ELSEVIER Journal of Applied Signal Processing, Journal of Biophysical Reviews and Letters, International Journal of Computer Applications and International Journal of Computing & Information Technology. He is associate editor of International Journal of Electronics, Electrical and Communication Engineering. He is an expert technical committee member of leading international and national conference includes IEEE-INDICOM. He is the Board of study member and research expert member of Anna University of Technology, Chennai. He has published more than 12 text book in the field of Electronic Laboratory, Electron devices, Electronic Circuits, Signals & Systems, Digital Signal Processing, Digital Computer Fundamentals etc. He has given many guest lectures in many leading institutions in India. He is the member of ISTE,Fellow of Institution of Engineers and Fellow of IETE.

His name is included in Morquis Who’s Who in Science and Engineering and International Biographical Center, Cambridge, England. His research area includes signal and image processing.
